The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) is the National body of Architects in the country. Established in 1917, the institute today has more than 25,000 members and plays a major role in promoting the profession of architecture by organising and uniting the Architects of India to promote aesthetic, scientific and practical efficiency of the profession both in Practice and in Education.
IIA is represented on various national and international committees connected with architecture, art and the building industry and is also actively associated with International Union of Architects (UIA), The Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA) and South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation of Architects (SAARCH).

Since, Ar. Prafulla Karkhanis, informed his inability to complete the duty of Elections on 29th & 30th December 2023 due to his ill health, the IIA Office Bearers have appointed Ar. Suresh Singh from Mumbai as one of the Scrutineer, along with Ar. Jatinder Saigal and Ar. Satish Paralkar.

- Since the nominations received are more than the no. of posts, election will be conducted for the following regions:
Eastern Region, Northern Region, Southern Region, Western Region
- Since the nominations received are equal to the no. of posts, there will be no election for the following region:

Counting of votes will be done at the IIA Head Office as per the announced schedule and shall be relayed on digital media Facebook Live (Link for this shall be published on web site)
Candidates or their authorized representatives may attend the process. The authorization of representatives shall be through a written letter by the candidate or through his registered email address.”
