Student Membership Guidelines

Who can become student members and what are the fees applicable?

All students from Schools of Architecture doing B. Arch program or Diploma in Architecture approved by the Council of Architecture can become student members of IIA.

All students from Polytechniques doing Diploma in Architecture/ Architectural Assistantship approved by the respective State Directorates of Technical Education can become student members of IIA Fees for student membership are as follows:

What do students gain by becoming members of IIA?

1. Student will get Membership Certificate from IIA which will be valid for the designated period.
2. Student members get to participate in various programs of the IIA like NATCON, Regional Conferences, Chapter Conferences, Competitions, Sports, and other professional activities of the IIA at subsidized registration charges.
3. Student members get to participate in forums such as ARCASIA and other affiliate institutions of IIA.
4. Access and contribution to e-student newsletter and IIA journal.
5. On graduating, students will get a waiver of admission fee to IIA equivalent to the amount paid towards student membership.

How do students become members?

1. The students can become members by filling an application form as provided in
   the annexure to this document, submitting documents as listed out and paying
   the membership fee.
2. This application has to be submitted to the Joint Secretaries of the IIA and
   routed through the Head of Institution and the Chapter Chairperson in the
   various states.

What happens after the formalities are completed?

The student member gets a certificate from IIA of the Student Membership mentioning the validity period and Student Membership Number.
